Why not just string floss or a water flosser?

Water flossers flush loose debris well. Plaque is a sticky biofilm, and shifting it takes something that physically touches the surface.

Dental Products Report

In the dental trade press

November 6, 2024

The dental trade press covered his pitch at the Greater New York Dental Meeting on December 2, 2024, where he introduced his company, Smyles Above Innovations, and The AutoFlosser. The same news ran in Dentistry Today and Inside Dentistry.

The article quotes the hygienist Lynn Pencek, RDH: “The AutoFlosser helps patients easily direct floss in the harder-to-reach areas. It is ideal for patients with poor dexterity.”

Questions, answered.

How do I use it?

Slide a pre-cut FLOSS strand into the handle, place the soft tip where you want to floss, and turn the wheel to guide the floss under your dental work. There is a short video further up this page.

How much is shipping?

Free on every order over $35. Below that it is calculated at checkout. Orders leave Barrington, Illinois within 1 to 2 business days, with tracking by email. Free local pickup if you are nearby.

What if it doesn't work for me?

Damaged, defective or wrong item: email info@theautoflosser.com and we replace or refund it.

Otherwise, because these are oral care products, returns run 15 days and only while the item is unopened and unused. Opened oral care products cannot be returned.

How often do I replace the floss?

The kit holds 30 pre-cut strands, so at one a night it is about a month. After that a 90-strand refill pack is roughly three months.

Will it fit my bridge / implant?

Two tips come in the box. The Universal tip covers most dental work: bridges, braces and bonded retainers.

The All-on-X tip is for a full row of teeth fixed onto implants. If your dentist replaced a whole upper or lower set with teeth that screw in and never come out, that is the one, whatever the paperwork called it: All-on-4, All-on-6, All-on-X. The number is just how many implants hold it up. Because it never comes out, it has to be cleaned along the line where it meets your gum, and that is the line this tip is shaped for.

If a strand is hard to insert, practise outside your mouth first and try both FLOSS versions. If it still will not pass, your dentist or hygienist can say whether a small adjustment would help.

How do I clean it?

It comes apart. Rinse the parts, let them dry, put it back together.
